비 바람이 불어치던 날 밤, 어느 중년 여인의 출산을 돕기 위해 언덕 위의 외딴집에 의사가 도착한다. 그녀는 무사히 아기를 낳았으나 아기에 관한 무언가 이야기를 듣고 나서 출산의 고통만큼 분노한다. 20년 후 그 여자는 나이가 들어 이스턴 뉴 잉글랜드 대학캠퍼스 안에 있는 기숙사의 사감으로 일하게 되었지만 여전히 자신의 출산을 봐주었던 의사의 진료를 받고 있다. 한편 일곱명의 졸업생들은 사감의 반대를 무릅쓰고 기숙사에서의 졸업 파티를 계획한다. 결국 한 학생과 사람 사이에는 심한 말다툼이 일어나고 그로 인해 사감이 살해된다. 그날부터 여학생들이 한사람씩 정체 불명의 습격자로부터 끔찍하게 살해 당하는 일이 벌어지는데...
